What is it? MplsBlockClub.org aims to be a portal that allows Minneapolis Block Club leaders to communicate effectively. The focus is to provide residents with the tools they need to create and maintain successful block clubs. Block clubs are not just created for fighting crime (although they can be effective tools to do so). Block clubs are a great way to get out and meet the people that share your neighborhood. The 24th Annual National Night Out will be held across the contry on Tuesday, August 7, 2007. Minneapolis was ranked third among large cities for its 2006 National Night Out efforts! Let's keep the ball rolling.

In the past NNO has waived the 75% rule (needing 75% of neighbors to sign for a street closure). However, this year it has changed;
* 75% of the neighbors on the block must agree before a street can be closed for NNO. The applicant doesn’t have to get signatures, but must have the names and street numbers of the people who support the closing when completing the online application in order to be approved.
* NNO organizers who are approved for street closure will be mailed warning tape and signs. In most cases, these items will be mailed as part of a packet with any requested items such as door hangers, name tags, child ID kits, Park at MOA tickets, etc. Generally, barricades won’t be used to close residential streets.
